Client: LearningRefined [CMA]URL: http://intranet.learningrefined.comSummary: What the web-user sees isn't the whole story. Behind a site like LearningRefined's lecture note site is an extensive intranet where content, users, and employees are managed.

Poor rabbit consulting built LearningRefined's extranet and intranet concurrently - for reasons that should be fairly obvious. Without a content management system, there would be no notes for users to purchase!

Since most of the tech behind LearningRefined has been custom built and is the *basis* of their business, not much detail can be given about what their intranet looks like, but here is a brief rundown of some of the key features:

  • Content management system wherein notetakers upload their leture notes, including images.
  • A complex coursepack system which acts very much like an off-line copy-shop, providing users with full coursepacks at a fraction of the off-line price.
  • A user management system with granular security controls, allowing management to specify exactly who is allowed to do what.
  • A statistics system which keeps track of *all* relevant site statistics, including how much money is being made, and by whom.
  • Fraud detection systems designed to watch out for password sharers and other fraudluent activity.
