Client: Packjam [CMA]URL: http://www.packjam.comSummary: A dynamic site like Packjam.com wouldn't be very dynamic without some sort of content management application on the backend.

From a programming perspective, 0def and PrC are happy with the way the site has turned out - the code is fairly clean and everything works as intended. From a design perspective....we're not happy. We've always felt that it could benefit from a better design, but the proprietor disagrees and likes the design, and the customer is always right...

The vast majority of the work we did for packjam.com was on their CMA. Here is a breakdown of it's salient features:

  • Message Board Admin
  • Group Homepages Admin
  • News Admin
  • Polling Admin
  • User Admin
  • Site Statistics
  • User Reports
  • School Calendar
  • School Admin
  • Advertising
  • National Advertising
The user system has multiple levels of access. Some users may only do such things as creating polls, or editing copy. Others, of course, can add/edit/delete anything and everything.

There are two advertizing systems in place. One is for "local" organizations, the other is for national organizations. The site is localized allowing proprietors of small establishments to purchase ads the will appear when a user local to them logs in.

In addition to building packjam.com, PrC also maintains the server packjam.com is hosted on - a fast intel server with a custom, hardened slackware linux distribution. Which has only seen downtime once in the past year, during a physical move of the server from one facility to another.

For NDA reasons, that's about as much detail as I can go into.
